I will try to explain the basic design which in common, the same in whatever, model of musical keyboard you have. You will see, the white keys and black keys arranged in certain manner, which is very familiar to Harmonium, which you must have seen. Depending on the type of musical keyboard, the keys maybe of mini size or the adult size. You may notice you have group of two black keys and group of three black keys. We will study more in depth as we get along.

You see lot buttons such as voice or tone, rhythm or style, start button, tempo, etc. Each button has its feature. Do not worry, we will get each of the feature as we get along. For now, we will discuss, The tone or Voice button, rhythm or style buttons and Tempo buttons which are used more often.

Voice of Tone Button : Voice or Tone represents the sound of various instruments which can be toggled as preferred. You can explore them by changing the instrument using the Voice or Tone button. Usually, the instrument list is printed on the keyboard or given in the manual.

Rhythm or style Button: Using this button, you can change different types of rhythms built in the keyboard. Rhythm patterns are used corresponding the type of melody you play. You can just explore them and enjoy the patterns. Just press start button on the keyboard to activate the pattern.

Tempo Button: Tempo is the nothing but speed of the Rhythm pattern. You will understand more clearly as we get along. Just check out, how speed differs for slow to fast as you change tempo.
