PRACTICING PIANO IS SIMPLE
Practicing the Piano is very simple and easy. Also, it is straightforward not to practice as it does not demand priority. All that is required is to cultivate a habit of forcing yourself to play the Piano and practice. The tips below help to ease your practice mind-set.
PRACTICE DAILY
Learning to play the musical keyboard takes discipline. Practicing just once or twice a week won’t get you very far. We are not looking at hours of piano practice here. It’s better to practice 20 to 30 minutes a day rather than 4 hours once a week. Schedule a practice time for yourself every day to get into the routine. Of Course, there will be days you miss, but do not worry; cultivating habits is important. You may find it difficult initially, but the habit will fall into place. As a matter of time, you will never miss it.
ANALYSE THE MUSIC PIECE
Analyzing the music piece is essential. Once confident about the musical notes, you must decide on your fingering. To arrive at the best fingering takes study. You can trial and error it till you find yourself comfortable. This procedure can be pretty time-consuming at the start, so most people often need to pay more attention to their fingerings. Perfect fingering is learned by experience. You will arrive at a brilliant breakthrough as you keep on trying. As each person’s fingering is different and comfortability varies, you can find the fingering that best suits you.
ALWAYS PRACTICE SLOW
After deciding on the keyboard fingering, get to the music piece for a long time. Even if the melody is on a fast tempo, practice slow. Gradually, you can pick up speed. Practicing one hand at a time and putting the other hand into play is advisable. Working out on fingering, taking breaks, and concentrating on one hand at a time makes you think that you are slowing down. Mind you, it saves time on practice. Just know that your fingers learn very fast when you play slowly. You will have sufficient time to consider the following note or next chord. So mistakes will not happen. Playing slow, you have to learn; playing fast, you don’t have to learn; it comes automatically.
PRACTICE FOR SHORT DURATIONS
Practicing for short durations is far better than practicing long hours once a week. Practicing the keyboard for small durations a day helps. So when you begin to feel tired, take a break. If you don’t want to stop practicing, try some other piece, perhaps something less demanding. I recommend you stop and take a break. The next day, you will see drastic improvement and develop more confidence.
Conclusion:
By following these simple steps, you will start getting more confidence. The piano learning pace also improves undoubtedly. More and more confidence will get you to try more challenging music pieces and enjoy your learning process.
